Northeast Mississippi Community College highlights student Kaitlynn Bass’s journey
Kaitlynn Bass started her journey with Northeast Mississippi Community College Adult Education at the Corinth Adult Education Center in August 2025, according to college officials. She initially enrolled in Mrs. Deanne Droke’s Smart Start class and completed the program in four weeks.
Motivated by her success, Bass continued her pursuit of a High School Equivalency diploma and enrolled in the WIOA Gateway Youth Program in September. Through the program, she secured a paid internship with Kennedy Tax Service, where she developed an interest in office work, working with numbers, and helping others.
Bass plans to attend NEMCC in the fall to pursue a degree in psychology. She aims to help young people navigate challenges and serve as a mentor, inspired by her own experiences. College officials praised her determination and heart for helping others and expressed excitement about her future accomplishments.
