Organizers urge anglers to check forecast during Missouri Severe Weather Preparedness Week
Organizers of Missouri Severe Weather Preparedness Week urged people planning to go fishing to check the weather forecast before they go, the campaign said.
The campaign also recommended carrying a portable NOAA weather radio when possible to receive timely warnings and updates, organizers said.
Organizers advised anglers to err on the side of caution and head back to shore when skies turn dark, saying doing so can reduce the risk of being caught in severe weather.
The preparedness campaign used the hashtag #MOSWPW2026 to share safety tips and reminders, organizers said.
