Palmer-Donnell House Guild hears updates on Blue Mountain health centers

Members of the Palmer-Donnell House Guild gathered during Reunion Weekend to hear Dr. Tammie McCoy speak about new and renovated health education facilities at Blue Mountain Christian University, the guild said.

Dr. McCoy described the newly renovated Jessie Mauney Center for Healthcare Education as dedicated to expanding the university’s nursing and health science programs, the guild said.

She also outlined plans for the Center for Grace and Healing, currently under construction, saying it will include laboratories, simulation rooms and skills labs for nursing and science students. Dr. McCoy said the neighboring facilities aim to equip students to serve others while strengthening the health and well-being of the university and the Blue Mountain community.

Palmer-Donnell House Guild President Shelby Hunsucker said the proximity of the new buildings to the historic Palmer-Donnell House supports the guild’s dual mission. “The PDHG seeks to preserve the past and serve the present through providing event spaces and campus accommodations surrounded by touchable history,” Hunsucker said. “We are excited to be near these two new buildings, which I believe demonstrates how preserving the past and serving the present go hand-in-hand on our campus.”
