The Mississippi Department of Transportation said temporary lane closures begin July 9, 2026, on State Routes 16 and 149 between U.S. 49 and State Route 3 in Yazoo County for an overlay project. The work is expected to continue through the remainder of the summer, MDOT said.
Drivers should anticipate daily lane closures as work progresses, MDOT said.
MDOT urged motorists to slow down and stay alert for roadside crews and signage.
