The Tupelo Police Department said it is investigating an officer-involved shooting in the area of Ruffwood Drive, off Lawndale Drive.
The department said the scene remains active but that there is no ongoing threat to the public. No officers were injured during the incident, the department said.
The Tupelo Police Department said it has contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, which will conduct the investigation in accordance with state law.
The department said it will release additional information as it becomes available.
