14 inmates have died in Mississippi prisons this month
A 14th Mississippi inmate died this month while under the watch of the MDOC, according to the MDOC website.
Curtis Hughes, 45, was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Mississippi State Penitentiary Hospital at Parchman.
The cause of most of these deaths are pending autopsy results.
