The Mississippi Development Authority said Thursday that Bishopric Industries will expand its Natchez operations with a $5.75 million investment expected to create 28 new jobs.
The agency said the project will include construction of a new storage facility, the addition of manufacturing equipment, expanded storage areas, gravel and drainage improvements, and installation of new gas and water lines to meet increased demand.
Bishopric Industries, founded in 1901 and formerly known as Enerfab Process Solutions, engineers and fabricates critical process tanks and pressure vessels, the company said. Company President Andy Koenig said the company’s mission remains to solve customers’ toughest challenges. “That mission stays the same; it only grows stronger. Our customers will benefit from our expanded expertise and resources as we enable industries that fuel and sustain modern life, including essential chemicals, pharmaceutical production, and next-generation technologies. Bishopric Industries will be there,” Koenig said.
The MDA described the Natchez facility as a major heavy industrial fabrication operation serving as a hub for engineering and production of heavy process equipment, large steel components and modular project solutions. Gov. Tate Reeves welcomed the announcement, saying it reflects Mississippis strength in industrial development and will make the states industrial sector even stronger.
The MDA said it will provide assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program and support for site improvements, with Adams County also helping the project. “Economic development doesnt stop once a company opens its doors. Supporting existing industry is at the core of MDAs work, and Bishopric Industries latest investment is a clear example of that commitment,” MDA Executive Director Bill Cork said.
