A former Hattiesburg attorney was sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing a child, according to court records.
Brandon Brooks, 48, was convicted by a Forrest County grand jury of sexual battery of a child under 14. The abuse reportedly started when the victim was 9 years old and continued until the victim was 13.
The records indicated that the abuse included an incident at Brooks’s law office in Hattiesburg. Brooks will serve his sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections and is not eligible for parole or early release.
