Governor Tate Reeves to sign new executive order banning groups of 10+ and more
Governor Tate Reeves announced at a press conference on Tuesday that he is to sign a new executive order closing restaurant and bar dining rooms and banning groups of 10 or more.
Among the main points in the press conference, Reeves will tell Mississippians to avoid gatherings of 10 or more and avoid visiting loved ones at hospitals and nursing homes.
“I will take every recommendation the experts tell us to protect our most vulnerable citizens,” Reeves said.
Reeves stressed this is not a stay at home order, but that he might issue one in the future.
He also told businesses to send their nonessential employees home.
We are not at the end of the pandemic,” Reeves said. “We may still be at the beginning stages of this fight. This virus is new. We do not know what the future holds. We know this virus is not to be taken lightly.”
