Jackson asks federal court to block state law creating water authority

The City of Jackson filed a motion Monday asking a federal court to enjoin the implementation of House Bill 1677, the city said, according to WJTV.

House Bill 1677 would create the Metro Jackson Water Authority and provide for three board members to be appointed by the city, WJTV reported.

In the filing, the city asked the court to halt the law’s implementation, the station reported.
