Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor was named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week after throwing for a career-high 360 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 31-24 win over No. 19 Missouri at Davis Wade Stadium, SuperTalk Mississippi reported Sept. 29, 2026.
SuperTalk Mississippi said Taylor completed 27 of 38 passes and his 24-yard touchdown to wide receiver Sanfrisco Magee with 3:57 left in the fourth quarter sealed the game. The outlet also reported it was the fourth straight game in which Taylor has completed at least three touchdown passes.
The report added that the win was Mississippi State’s first ranked-on-ranked victory since the Dak Prescott era in 2014 and gave the Bulldogs their first 2-0 start in SEC play in five years, since the late Mike Leach.
SuperTalk Mississippi noted Mississippi State will face No. 7 Alabama in Starkville on Oct. 3, 2026, at 11 a.m., with the game to be broadcast on ABC and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
