Man wanted in Louisiana dies after being hit by vehicles in Mississippi

Copiah County, Miss. — A man wanted in Louisiana was struck and killed by two vehicles on Interstate 55 in Mississippi, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the 68-mile marker, authorities said. The man was walking on the highway when he was hit by a southbound vehicle, troopers said.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a trooper responded to the scene and found the man suffering injuries from the crash. He was later pronounced dead by emergency personnel.

The man’s identity has not been released. Authorities said he was wanted in Louisiana, but no further details about his identity or the circumstances leading to his presence on the highway were immediately available.

The drivers involved in the crash remained at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the exact sequence of events.
