Mississippi counties grapple with flooding, power outages
Flooding continued to affect parts of Mississippi on Saturday, June 20, 2026, and most of the state remained under an Elevated (Level 2) flash flood threat through the afternoon, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) said.
WJTV reported that counties including Stone County were grappling with flooding and power outages amid the heavy rain.
MEMA said heavy rainfall was moving across the state and that the elevated flash flood threat would persist through Saturday afternoon as crews monitored conditions.
Officials continued to track the situation, MEMA and local media said, and advised residents to stay informed as weather conditions evolved.
