Ole Miss beat LSU 32-24 Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the first top-10 meeting between the programs since 1962. The Rebels jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead before LSU tied it in the fourth quarter; quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns and ran in the go-ahead score with 6:14 left. A crowd of 70,033 — a venue record — watched Jaylon Braxton seal the win with a late interception. Ole Miss improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in SEC play under first-year head coach Pete Golding, extending its home winning streak to 14 games.

Jackson State soccer races past Middle Tennessee 4-1
Jackson State closed its non-conference schedule with a 4-1 win over Middle Tennessee on Sunday at the JSU Soccer Complex. India Wilson opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, Ryanne Hawthorn-Harper struck in the 48th, Malayah Nuestro added her first of the season in the 60th, and Mia Ortega sealed it in the 65th. Goalkeeper Taylor Osborn made 13 saves as the Tigers improved to 3-6. Jackson State opens SWAC play against Southern at home.
Northwest men’s soccer earns first road win at Southwest since 2014
The Northwest Mississippi Community College men’s soccer team beat Southwest Mississippi 3-2 on the road Saturday, its first victory in Summit since 2014 and its best start to conference play since 2011. Wesley Kilpatrick scored three minutes in, Leo Frank doubled the lead in the 10th, and Jairo Mendez netted the winner in the 58th. The Rangers (4-3-2, 2-0 MACCC) host No. 4 Jones College next.
