Bulldogs recorded a 38-13 victory at Minnesota, the program’s largest road win since 2021.
SuperTalk Mississippi reported Sept. 13, 2026, that quarterback Kamario Taylor completed 16 of 22 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns and added 86 rushing yards. Starting running back Fluff Bothwell rushed 18 times for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Mississippi State’s offense finished with 479 total yards and 28 first downs. Wide receiver Anthony Evans III had 121 yards on seven receptions and caught a touchdown. The Bulldogs scored on a 22-yard pass to Zion Ragins less than two minutes into the game.
Minnesota responded with a drive that produced a field goal and trimmed the score to 7-3, but Mississippi State answered with a 21-point run to lead 28-3. The Golden Gophers added a field goal before halftime. Early in the second half a Taylor fumble was returned for a defensive touchdown by Minnesota, and Mississippi State then added 10 points before the fourth quarter to reach the final 38-13.
Minnesota finished with 292 total yards, no offensive touchdowns and 15 rushing yards. Penalties were a factor for both teams: Minnesota was assessed 11 penalties for 112 yards, and Mississippi State had six penalties for 60 yards.
Linebacker Tyler Lockhart led Mississippi State’s defense with seven tackles (four solo) and a sack, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.
Mississippi State will remain on the road to play at South Carolina on Sept. 19 at 3:15 p.m. in the Bulldogs’ first Southeastern Conference game of the 2026 season, according to SuperTalk Mississippi.
