Reward offered for information on escaped Mississippi inmate

Citizens should continue to be on the lookout for escapee Corey Lee Alred.Alred, 39. was working on a garbage detail with a crew from the South Mississippi Correctional Institutions (SMCI) when he escaped Tuesday afternoon in Perry County. The crew was off Mississippi Highway 42 of Richton.

He is serving a total of nine years for three convictions (burglary larceny, embezzlement, and residential burglary) from three different counties (Panola, Tate and Tallahatchie).

“The public should continue to be on the alert and anyone with information should contact us or Crime Stoppers,” Commissioner Pelicia E. Hall said. “A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by Crime Stoppers.”
