An armed man lunged at Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton during the Canfield Fair in Canfield, Ohio, on Sunday, injuring several other attendees, NBC News reported.
The outlet said the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the annual fair in the Youngstown suburb.
Acton’s campaign shared a statement after the incident, NBC News reported.
The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident to NBC News. Officials did not immediately provide further details, the outlet said.
