The Atlanta Dream advanced to the WNBA semifinals with an 83-75 win over the Washington Mystics, securing their first semifinal appearance since 2018.
Fox News reported Oct. 1, 2026, that Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 22 points in Game 2 and that the Dream will host Game 1 of the semifinals Sunday against the New York Liberty.
The report said Atlanta finished with the Eastern Conference’s best regular-season record. The Mystics committed 11 first-half turnovers, Fox News reported, and the matchup was Washington’s first playoff appearance since the franchise won the 2019 WNBA championship.
Fox News also reported that Rhyne Howard finished with 15 points for Atlanta before fouling out with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The report added that the New York Liberty made WNBA history by sweeping Minnesota, becoming the first No. 8 seed to eliminate a No. 1 seed in league history.
