Caitlin Clark scored 34 points and had 12 assists as the Indiana Fever rallied to a 111-91 win over the Connecticut Sun on Friday, the box score shows. The victory comes as the WNBA pauses for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Connecticut led 28-19 after the first quarter, but Indiana responded by outscoring the Sun 39-15 in the second quarter to take a 58-43 lead at halftime, the box score shows.
The third quarter featured a highlight assist from Clark to Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell finished with 34 points, matching Clark, and the two teammates recorded their fourth 30-point game of the season as a pair, a league record, according to WNBA statistics.
Mitchell’s output moved her into the league lead in total points, the WNBA statistics show. The win also extended Indiana’s franchise record for 100-plus-point games in a season to 19, the team said.
With four games remaining in the regular season, Indiana resumes play after the FIBA break on Sept. 18 at the Toronto Tempo, according to the Fever schedule.
