California teacher arrested on charges of sexual conduct with student

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit said Wednesday that it arrested Samantha J. Watson, 41, of Eastvale, on allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor.

The sheriff’s office said Watson was charged with sending harmful material to a juvenile, oral copulation and digital penetration. Investigators said the alleged conduct occurred between 2017 and 2018.

Investigators said the inquiry began in January and that deputies executed a search warrant May 22 at a residence in the 14,000 block of Silent Stream Court in Eastvale. Watson was taken into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said.

The office said the alleged conduct occurred while Watson was employed at a charter school in the 23,000 block of Sunnymead Boulevard in Moreno Valley, but did not identify the school. “This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time,” the sheriff’s office said.

Fox News Digital said it reached out to schools in the area for comment. Investigators said they believe there may be additional victims.
