Democratic-controlled states file new suit challenging Trump’s mail-in voting restrictions
Democratic-controlled states filed a new lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Trump administration’s restrictions on mail-in voting, the states said.
The Supreme Court previously found the states lacked the right to sue over an executive order the president signed in the spring, the court said.
The high court left open the possibility that another party could bring a future challenge, the court said.
The states said the new filing reflects hopes for better success after the earlier case was dismissed as premature and renewed concerns about restrictions on mail-in voting.
