Navy reviews aircraft carrier design to suit Trump’s preferences

The U.S. Navy said it is weighing major changes to the design of its next class of aircraft carriers to better match preferences expressed by President Donald Trump.

The Navy said it is conducting an internal review to consider possible alterations to the carrier design. It did not specify which features are under review.

The review comes as the White House has continued to wade into the designs of naval warships, the Navy said.

Officials did not provide additional details about the scope, timeline or potential impacts of any changes, the Navy said.
