Federal judge again blocks Trump administration mail-in voting restrictions

Boston federal Judge Indira Talwani again blocked the Trump administration from moving forward with new mail-in voting restrictions, issuing a temporary injunction Thursday night that will remain in place for at least two weeks, according to the court order.

Talwani said a group of blue states and private voting rights groups were likely to succeed in their claims, the order said.

The injunction prevents the administration from implementing the disputed measures ahead of the November midterm elections, according to the ruling.

The order was issued Thursday night and is temporary, the court document said.
