Fallternative Flavors, Holiday Decor and Analog Hobbies Trending

Pumpkin spice has competition this fall. Yelp’s September trend report shows shifting tastes as Mississippians and Americans head into autumn: “fallternative” flavors are surging, holiday home decorating season is kicking off early, and off-screen hobbies are going strong.

Searches for drinks like the salted brown butter latte climbed sharply in August 2026 compared to a year earlier, as coffee drinkers look beyond the usual pumpkin offerings. Meanwhile, searches related to holiday home decor are already rising, signaling an early start to the decorating season.

Yelp also reports continued strength in analog activities, with people heading to craft stores and public libraries to unplug. The trends reflect year-over-year changes in Yelp searches from August 2025 to August 2026, tracked at trends.yelp.com.
