House panel advances nearly $1.15 trillion defense bill

The House Armed Services Committee approved the fiscal 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, sending the nearly $1.15 trillion measure to the full House late Thursday, the committee said.

Committee members debated roughly 900 offered amendments for about 14 hours before taking the vote, the committee said.

The measure is the annual defense policy bill, known as the fiscal 2027 NDAA, the committee said.
