Moulton, Markey clash in final Massachusetts Democratic Senate debate
Rep. Seth Moulton and Sen. Ed Markey traded sharp attacks from the start of Thursday’s debate, the final televised event in the Massachusetts Democratic Senate primary.
Moulton, 47, is pursuing a longshot challenge to unseat Markey, 80, a progressive incumbent, according to the debate and campaign reporting.
The debate was hosted by WCVB-TV and WBUR-FM, organizers said. The event marked the candidates’ last live televised forum before the primary.
At the outset, both candidates pressed each other on records and priorities, with exchanges turning pointed as the hour progressed, according to viewers of the broadcast.
