Ocasio-Cortez warns Democrats against working with Greene, calls her a ‘proven bigot’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York on Friday warned Democrats against forming alliances with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, calling her a “proven bigot.”

The comments came during an event hosted by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, when a student asked Ocasio-Cortez about bipartisan efforts and working across the aisle with Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Tim Burchett.

Ocasio-Cortez emphasized her stance against collaborating with Greene, citing her past remarks and actions she described as bigoted. She did not specifically address her views on other Republicans mentioned during the event.

The congresswoman’s remarks underscore ongoing tensions within Congress over partisan cooperation and the role of controversial figures in bipartisan efforts.
