Greene projected winner in Michigan Senate special; Democrats keep majority
Democrat Chedrick Greene was projected to win the special election for Michigan’s 35th Senate District, Decision Desk HQ reported, preserving his party’s narrow majority in the state Senate.
Decision Desk HQ said Greene’s projected victory increases Democrats’ advantage from 19-18 to 20-18 in the 38-member chamber.
The larger margin reduces the number of defections Democrats could absorb while advancing legislation, Decision Desk HQ said.
No additional results or official certification were cited in the projection by Decision Desk HQ.
