Open enrollment for 2027 ACA coverage begins Nov. 1; most states run through Jan. 15

ACA health insurance marketplaces will begin taking enrollments Nov. 1 for 2027 coverage, with most states keeping open-enrollment periods open through Jan. 15.

NPR Topics: News reported on Nov. 1, 2026, that the federal marketplace is available at HealthCare.gov and that getting an early start may be especially important this year.
