Hasina vowed to return from exile despite facing a death sentence, the report said, in a speech marking the second anniversary of her ouster.

She fled Bangladesh by helicopter after nearly two months of protests in 2024, which the United Nations says left about 1,400 people dead.

The speech marked the anniversary of her departure and reiterated her intention to come back, according to the report.
