The Defense Department estimates a U.S. naval blockade has cost Iran about $4.8 billion in oil revenue, a Pentagon official familiar with the assessment told The Hill late Friday.
The blockade was instituted more than two weeks ago, The Hill reported. The outlet described the measure as one of several actions President Donald Trump has used to put pressure on Iran.
The estimate was attributed to a Pentagon official who spoke to The Hill. The report did not include further details about the calculation, The Hill said.
