Remains of U.S. soldier missing in Morocco recovered, Army says

The remains of a U.S. soldier who had been reported missing in Morocco were recovered Saturday from the Atlantic Ocean, U.S. Army Europe and Africa said.

The Army identified the service member as 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr. of Richmond, Virginia, according to the statement.

U.S. Army Europe and Africa said Key fell off a cliff during a recreational hike while off duty.

The Army did not immediately provide additional details about the recovery or any ongoing investigations, the statement said.
