A Fox News poll reported Oct. 2, 2026, shows state Rep. James Talarico (D-Texas) leading state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-Texas) by two points among likely voters in Texas, leaving the contest effectively tied.
The Hill reported the poll’s two-point margin is within the poll’s 3 percentage-point margin of error and described the result as a tightening race in the Lone Star State.
