Terry McLaurin carted off with apparent left-knee injury as 49ers beat Commanders 23-17 at Levi’s Stadium

Terry McLaurin was carted off Levi’s Stadium with an apparent left-knee injury during the first half as the Washington Commanders fell 23-17 to the San Francisco 49ers, who remained undefeated.

Fox News reported Oct. 20, 2026 that McLaurin went down without contact and was taken from the field on a cart while teammates and 49ers players knelt as he exited. The Commanders trailed 13-3 at the time and 20-3 by halftime after a Brock Purdy touchdown pass to George Kittle and two Christian McCaffrey rushing scores.

San Francisco also sustained an injury late in the second quarter when wide receiver Mike Evans left the game; Fox News said Evans went to the locker room after a 16-yard reception and finished the night with three catches for 94 yards. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels threw second-half touchdown passes to Stefon Diggs and Rachaad White to cut the deficit to 23-17 before the 49ers’ defense held on Washington’s final possession.

Fox News noted the Commanders sit at 1-5 in the NFC and have faced a string of personnel setbacks this season, including the loss of offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil to a season-ending triceps injury. The report said McLaurin entered Monday leading Washington with 14 receptions for 203 yards and a touchdown; McLaurin is a two-time Pro Bowler who posted five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons from 2020-2024, per Fox News.
