Dodgers hold on to beat Braves 5-3 in NLDS Game 1 at Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers held on for a 5-3 win over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium.

Fox News reported Oct. 3, 2026, that Dodgers starter Tarik Skubal struck out seven, allowed one run on two hits and two walks over six innings, and the Dodgers got key homers from Teoscar Hernández, Kyle Tucker and Max Muncy.

Atlanta starter Dylan Dodd worked three scoreless innings with two hits allowed, the report said. In the fourth inning, reliever Victor Mederos gave up Hernández’s 431-foot home run that put Los Angeles up 2-0, prompting manager Walt Weiss to remove him.

Skubal retired 15 consecutive batters after allowing a leadoff single, Fox News wrote, until Sean Murphy hit a 421-foot solo home run in the sixth to cut the deficit to 2-1. In the bottom of the sixth, Tucker homered 408 feet to right field and Muncy added a solo shot two batters later to extend the lead to 5-1.

The Braves, reportedly short on bullpen options after a three-game Wild Card Series win over the Philadelphia Phillies, turned to A.J. Smith-Shawver and later Tanner Scott. Scott surrendered a two-run homer to Ozzie Albies in the ninth after a Ronald Acuña Jr. walk, making it 5-3, but Scott got the next two outs.

Manager Dave Roberts turned to Evan Phillips to record the final out; Phillips walked Mauricio Dubón before inducing a game-ending groundout by Austin Riley to Mookie Betts, Fox News said. The teams meet again Sunday in Game 2.
