Bacarra Hill sentenced to 25 years day-for-day for trafficking meth, attempted murder in Alcorn County

Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims sentenced Bacarra Hill, 39, to 25 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections on Oct. 19, 2026, the First Circuit District Attorney’s Office said in a Facebook post.

The DA’s office said Hill pleaded guilty to Trafficking Methamphetamine, occurring Oct. 4, 2024, and Attempted Murder, occurring Oct. 1, 2026. Hill was sentenced to 25 years in each case, with the sentences running concurrently.

The post said Mississippi law requires any trafficking sentence to be served day for day, meaning the defendant is not eligible for parole or early release on that count. Upon completion of the 25-year term, Hill will have five years of post-release supervision, the DA’s office said.

According to the post, the cases were investigated by the Corinth Police Department, lead Detective Jerry Rogers, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Assistant District Attorney Clay Cummings prosecuted the cases on behalf of the State of Mississippi. The release on Facebook was posted by the First Circuit District Attorney’s Office and is signed by District Attorney Jason D. Herring.
