The Trump administration told a court that federal green grants canceled last year were selected “solely” on the basis of a state’s political affiliation, a Department of Energy filing says.
Jeff Novak, a Department of Energy lawyer, wrote in the filing that the cancellations were chosen based on political affiliation, according to the document.
The filing represents the administration’s position in the court case, the document shows.
