Trump bans Canadian dairy, motor vehicles and many alcoholic beverages

President Donald Trump signed executive orders Tuesday banning the sale of Canadian dairy products, motor vehicles and many alcoholic beverages in the United States, the White House said.

The orders take effect Sept. 29, the White House said.

The White House said the orders were signed the same day Canada announced retaliatory tariffs. The statement said the moves come as the trade war between the two countries continues.

The White House did not immediately provide additional details about enforcement or exemptions, according to the statement.
