Charlotte food bank gets 270,000 eggs under N.C. attorney general settlement

North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson, a Democrat, said Tuesday that a Charlotte food bank received 270,000 eggs as part of an antitrust settlement with three of the country’s largest egg producers.

Jackson said Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte accepted the donation.

He said food banks in Raleigh and Winston-Salem received eggs last month as part of the same effort.

Jackson described the distributions as stemming from the settlement with the three large egg producers. He announced the latest donation on Tuesday.
