President Donald Trump said Friday he hopes a temporary cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine will be extended beyond the announced three days, he told NewsNation.
“I’d like to see a big extension,” Trump said in an interview with the network, a sister outlet of The Hill.
The remark came after Russia and Ukraine agreed to halt fighting through the weekend, a pause the two countries announced would last three days.
Trump made the comments after White House correspondent Kellie Meyer asked about the cease-fire during the NewsNation interview.
