U.S. military kills two in strike on alleged drug boat, Southcom says
The U.S. military carried out a strike on an alleged drug-trafficking vessel in the eastern Pacific on Friday that killed two suspected “narco-terrorists,” U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) said.
Southcom said the vessel was operated by an unnamed designated terrorist organization and was transiting along “known narco-trafficking routes” while engaged in illicit drug trafficking.
The command did not identify the organization or provide further details about the strike, Southcom said.
Southcom described the action as the latest strike on an alleged drug-trafficking vessel in the region, according to its statement.
