Trump says he will nominate Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche

President Donald Trump said Wednesday he plans to nominate Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to permanently lead the Justice Department, according to a video posted to social media by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino.

“Tomorrow I’m instructing Dan [Scavino] and everybody else that’s involved in that very complicated process, which is gonna go, I think, very quickly, that we are going to make him permanent Attorney General,” Trump said in the video, which Scavino posted.

Blanche assumed the role on an interim basis following the firing of former Attorney General Pam Bondi in early April, the video said.

The video was recorded during a Rose Garden Club Dinner at the White House on Wednesday evening and posted to social media by Scavino, according to the posting.
