U.S. lifts export ban on Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5, allowing sharing with more than 100 firms

The U.S. government lifted an export ban on Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 on Friday, allowing the company to share the model with more than 100 companies, a company spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill.

The Hill reported the decision marks a reversal from earlier restrictions the government had imposed on Mythos 5 and on a weaker Anthropic model called Fable.

An Anthropic spokesperson described Claude Mythos 5 as the company’s most advanced AI model, the statement to The Hill said.

The spokesperson confirmed the change in a statement to The Hill but did not provide additional details in the remarks reported by the news outlet.
