U.S., Minnesota investigating possible Iran-linked cyberattack on more than 30 water systems

The Minnesota Information Technology (MNIT) agency said Tuesday it is investigating a coordinated cyberattack on more than 30 municipal water facilities in the state that may involve Iranian-linked hackers.

MNIT released an advisory Tuesday that, it said, included details pointing to possible Iranian hackers.

The agency said it is coordinating its investigation with federal partners, including the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The investigation is ongoing, MNIT said in the advisory.
