Weiser says he will confront candidate over refusal to call Boulder firebombing antisemitic
Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said he will confront congressional candidate Melat Kiros after she refused to condemn the 2025 firebomb attack on Jewish activists in Boulder as antisemitic, the attorney general said.
Weiser, who defeated Sen. Michael Bennett in Colorado’s Democratic gubernatorial primary, made the comment as the dispute over the attack intensified, according to the report.
Melat Kiros, a democratic socialist and former attorney, scored an upset against incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette, the article said. Kiros is the congressional candidate Weiser said he would confront.
The original report described the 2025 firebomb attack as deadly and said Kiros declined to label it antisemitic. Weiser said he planned to raise the matter directly with her, the report added.
