Alison Davis has been accused in the death of her husband, Kevin Davis, in New Haven, Indiana, police said.
Davis told investigators she woke up to find her husband face down in a pool of blood inside their home and said he had fallen down the stairs, she said.
Authorities said an autopsy report prompted them to reach a different conclusion about the cause of death.
Davis has disputed that account, saying she did not kill her husband, according to her statements to investigators.
