Our area needs your help to increase cell/internet service as millions at stake
If you are interested in increasing the availability and quality of cell phone and high speed internet in our area then the message from public service commissioner Brandon Presley was clear last night: we need your help.
“There is $84 million at stake when we talk about how much the telecom companies receive,” Presley said.
On the subject of lack of quality cell service, Mr. Presley told the capacity crowd at the Tippah County courthouse how it’s a public safety issue and how he is working with Sheriff deputies as well as 911 dispatcher to identify public safety risks.
When it comes to high speed internet, his message was clear: open up county based co-ops to carry fiber internet, something Alabama has done in recent years.
