Tippah residents frustrated with spotty internet service

All across Tippah County (and throughout Rural Mississippi) a common chorus is being echoed: lack of consistent internet service.

It spans across the county, across carriers and devices. Streaming is down. Signal is being dropped. Data is being lost.

Most importantly, the internet is not consistent. And the High speed internet option served through power associations looks more and more appealing.

“I’ve been having trouble for months,” one Maxxsouth user said.

“I have AT&T and it’s not been any better,” another chimed in during a discussion of internet woes.

Multi-day outages are becoming the norm. An inability to conduct business is hindering local business owners.

“I may as well try and send smoke signals or carrier pigeons,” a local business owner posted.

Customer service departments at ISP’s are sending technicians and replacing modems. It’s maddening to the consumer, nothing working.

Internet has been a hot topic for rural Mississippians. If the problems persist they will become even more so.
