2022 1st Franklin Tippah County Sports Female Athlete of the Year Madilynn Vuncannon

Our 2022 1st Franklin Financial Tippah County Sports Female Athlete of the Year is a Walnut product for the second straight season after Claire Leak took the honor in 2021. This year, it is multi-sport standout Madilynn Kate Vuncannon.

The Lady Wildcat standout did a little bit of everything and she did it all well.

She was a cross country individual medalist and helped capture a 2A state cross country title. She was the All Division and All County Volleyball player of the year. She won a state track title in the 1600m and 3200m.

And just for good measure, Vuncannon was the leading regular season basketball female scorer in the state of Mississippi, turning in a Walnut Lady Wildcat record 1,739 points.

The list of accolades for Madi Kate are long, and the rising senior has another season to add to them.

Vuncannon took home the 1-2A player of the year in basketball and was the Tippah County player of the year. Her efforts on the hardwood, where she spends long hours in the gym hoisting up shots, paid off in a big way this season.

MK was the MAC North/South All Star game MVP. She hold college offers from BMC, Pearl River, ICC and Northwest.
