Local gym goers backing petition to make fitness centers listed as essential

Local gym owner, Judy Gaillard, is asking for your help. She and many others consider gyms to be an essential service and have started a petition to have them declared as such.

“During times of a pandemic, the mental and physical health of people often goes forgotten,” states Total Body Gym owner, Judy Gaillard, “…many people use the gym as therapy or a way to improve their health.”

Gym goers at Total Body Gym were already implementing social distancing guidelines before the shut down happened, including limiting gym users at a time, 6 foot distance from others, mask wearing, and proper sanitation and hand washing procedures.

Gaillard goes on to add that many gym goers would be happy to even implement appointments to use the gym, if deemed necessary, to further lower the risk of disease spread. On the gym’s website, they have created a list of rules to be implemented and a way for gym members to set up appointment times to safely exercise. Those can be found at www.totalbodygym.net

We have attached the link to the petition below. They have set a goal for 5000 signatures and are asking the community for help!
